Will Smith and Martin Lawrence Enjoy ‘Bad Boy’ Re-Run Before Filming Third Movie

AceShowbizWill Smith and Martin Lawrence have taken a trip down memory lane and revisited their original “Bad Boys” movies as they prepare to begin filming the new sequel.

The old pals have been trying to turn their dreams of a third instalment of the action comedy into a reality for years, and in early October (2018), studio chiefs at Sony Pictures were said to be close to signing off on the project, 15 years after “Bad Boys 2” hit theatres.

In November, Will and Martin officially announced their return as Miami Police Department detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett, and as they geared up to kick off production on “Bad Boys for Life“, the actors decided to check out their 1995 original and its 2003 sequel.

“First Day of Shooting tomorrow!” Will wrote on Instagram, alongside a photo of himself and Lawrence posing in front of a big screen bearing an old image of the stars in character from the first “Bad Boys”.

“We watched @BadBoys 1 & 2 together over the weekend. It’s about to be KRAZY (sic)! #badboysforlife”.

This time around, Will and Martin will be joined by Vanessa Hudgens, “Riverdale” star Charles Melton, and “Vikings” actor Alexander Ludwig, with the trio portraying a highly-specialised police unit that clashes with Will and Martin’s detective characters as they tackle a new threat in Miami, Florida.

The franchise veterans will also be reunited with original co-star Joe Pantoliano, who was recently confirmed to reprise his longtime role as Captain Conrad Howard.

Rising filmmakers Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah will direct the project, which will be co-produced by movie mogul Jerry Bruckheimer, and is set for release in January, 2020.
