Pose season three will mark the last lot of episodes of the ballroom culture period drama on FX. The series is following the gang one last team, showing fans what’s in store for each of them during 1994 at the height of the AIDS epidemic. Sadly there isn’t too much longer left before it’s time to say goodbye for good.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Pose.

Season three of Pose is going to be the shortest yet, made up of only seven episodes.

This is in comparison to the first which had eight and the second that had 10.

The most likely explanation for this is because of the coronavirus pandemic when the show was filmed.

Unfortunately for fans, despite it being deemed as a major success, Pose will be finishing after series seven.

There are just four episodes left of Pose season three to air on FX.

The next episode Take Me to Church is going to be shown on Sunday, May 16.

Its simple synopsis reads: “After a startling health update, Pray Tell returns home to reconnect with his birth family.”

So what is the reason behind Pose being cancelled after just three series?

Why is Pose ending on sesaon 3?

Pose is the co-creation of writers Steven Canals and Ryan Murphy.

While Canals is primarily known for Pose, Murphy is also recognised for some of his other shows including American Horror Story and Glee.

Discussing the show’s ending, Canals said they “could have continued” with Pose, building up the characters and the world around them even more so.

However, it was the creators’ decision to cancel Pose following series three.

Canals told Variety: “For me as a true lover of television, one of the things that has always frustrated me is when I am tuning into a season of television and I can tell this season just feels like filler.

“The last thing I wanted to do to our audience was create narrative simply to create narrative, and with no real intention.

“I could see the ending…and it made sense to land the plane comfortably if you will.”

Now the question everyone is eager to know is how exactly will Pose come to a close.

Once again, there was a time jump between seasons two and three.

When Pose series three started, Blanca (played by Mj Rodriguez) was trying to juggle being a mum, a good partner and being a nurse’s aide.

Meanwhile, Pray Tell (Billy Porter) has been struggling with his health and “the emergence of a vicious new upstart house forces the House of Evangelista members to contend with their legacy.”

Pose is available to watch on FX.
