Who is Cody Simpson?

Cody Simpson is an Australian singer and actor who was born in Queensland on January 11, 1997.

He attended All Saints Anglican School where he was a talented swimmer, winning two gold medals at the 2009 Queensland Swimming Championships.

He has two siblings,  a 23-year-old sister, Alli, who was born on April 24, 1998, and a 17-year-old brother, Tom, born February 4, 2004.

The star first came to public attention in 2009 after uploading some videos to YouTube of him performing various tracks including I'm Yours by Jason Mraz and Cry Me A River by Justin Timberlake.

This led to him being discovered by Shawn Campbell, who helped him launch his career and encouraged him to move to L.A to pursue his musical dreams.

Cody released his first EP 4 U in December 2010 and has since made five more albums including Paradise and Surfers Paradise, the latter reaching No30 in the UK album charts.

Alongside his musical success, Cody has had a glittering acting career, having starred in a host of things including Cougar Town and Instant Mom.

And in 2018 he took on the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway production of Anastasia.

Cody was a contestant in Dancing With The Stars in 2014, where he was the third celeb to be eliminated.

In 2019, it was revealed that he is a member of the University of Southern California's Trojan Swim Elite team.

And on top of all his work commitments, he has also acted as brand ambassador for a host of charitable causes including Teen Cancer America and United Nations Development Programme advocate for oceans, to name a couple!

When did Cody Simpson date Miley Cyrus?

Miley and Cody began dating in October 2019, but they've been close friends for years.

They were first spotted out and about sharing smooches as well as featuring on each other's social media.

And the popstar even took to her Instagram to confirm that Cody is in fact "her type".

She added as she confessed their kiss: "Can a girl not get a f*****g açai bowl and a morning make out session in peace?"

Miley then addressed her fans' backlash after she was spotted snogging Cody, who is a pal of her's and ex-husband Liam's.

She said: "I think that's why people have always felt so entitled over my life and how I live it because they've watched me grow up.'

However, their romance didn't last long, in August 2020, Cyrus confirmed that she and Simpson had broken up but remained friends.
