THE A Word is back for it's third season on the BBC, a TV drama that focuses on the life of a young boy with autism.

The lead character in the hit drama is Joe, played by young actor Max Vento. Here's everything we know about him…

Who is Max Vento?

Max Vento, 10, from West Yorkshire, plays autistic boy Joe Hughes in BBC show The A Word.

Joe is the child at the heart of the show and the part is Max's first TV role.

Joe's biography on his agent’s website reads: "I am a typical little boy who loves drama and acting. I have appeared in Annie and I have also appeared in a commercial for Better Bathrooms."

As well as The A Word, in 2017 he starred in film Cotton Wool.

Does Max Vento have autism?

Max's character Joe in The A Word does have autism.

In real life actor Max does not.

However, he does portray the condition excellently on screen.

When is The A Word on the BBC?

The A Word season 3 continues TONIGHT (May 26, 2020) at 9pm on BBC One.

It is on for six episodes and airs every Tuesday. We are currently on episode four of the TV show.
