When does I’m A Celebrity 2020 start? – The Sun

FANS of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here will be pleased to know that the show is likely to go ahead this year, despite the outbreak of coronavirus – but there is a twist.

As the rumour mill goes wild with guesses of who the contestants will be this year, producers have revealed the show will be taking place in a haunted Welsh castle.

When does I'm A Celebrity start on ITV?

There isn't an official start date yet.

However, I'm A Celebrity normally begins around mid-November and lasts for 22 days, concluding around the first week of December.

According to sources ITV has already began hiring crew to work on the show.

However, it was revealed in January 2020 that spin-off show Extra Camp will not be returning due to high costs.

But will this change with the jungle show relocating to the wilds of Wales?

One concern is that the new location has seen a sharp rise in Covid-19 cases, which might make things tricky depending on local lockdown rules.

A source told The Mirror that show execs are discussing the situation daily, saying: "There have also been discussions about shortening the series to two weeks instead of a 3.5-week stint.

"In the worst-case scenario this year’s series will have to be cancelled."

We'll keep you posted.

Who presents I'm A Celebrity?

I'm A Celebrity has been presented by Anthony McPartlin and Declan Donnelly known collectively as Ant and Dec since its premiere series in 2002.

In 2018, however, Ant gave up presenting duties and was temporarily replaced by Holly Willoughby before returning in 2019.

Adam Thomas, Emily Atack and Joel Dommet present spin-off show, Extra Camp.

However, Extra Camp was axed in January 2020 after 17 years.

How can I watch I'm A Celebrity?

I'm A Celebrity normally airs on ITV.

It is usually a ratings winner for the channel, drawing viewers of over 9 million on average.

The show is on every night after a series premieres at 9pm.

Fans who miss the show when it's broadcast can catch it online on ITV Hub.

ITV Hub also has an app which is available on the Appstore and Play Store.

Where will I'm A Celebrity 2020 be filmed in the UK?

In August 2020, The Sun revealed I'm A Celebrity 2020 is moving to the UK for the 2020 series.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic ITV bosses decided not to use the Aussie jungle in 2020.

So, due to travel restrictions, the campmates will be swapping the campsite for a castle and trading Kiosk Kev for the Woman in White.

The camp will instead be inside 200-year-old Grwych Castle.

I'm A Celeb will not be the castle's debut appearance on TV, as it was previously featured in series nine episode 14 of BBC's Great British Railway Journeys, and in season five of Mysteries Of The Abandoned.

Who won I'm A Celebrity 2019?

On December 8, 2019, Jacqueline Jossa was crowned the winner of I'm A Celebrity.

Speaking about winning the show she said: "I can't believe I've done all that stuff."

In an emotional moment, she said that she felt the show had been a "turning point" in her life.

Corrie actor Andy Whyment was runner-up and DJ Roman Kemp placed third.

Jossa's last trial involved lying down on a giant star on the floor with her arms and legs tied down while jungle critters were thrown at her.
