What does the word fauda mean?
'Fauda' is an Arabic word meaning chaos.
But it is also reportedly a codeword that Israeli special forces use when a mission goes wrong.
Not only used as the name of the series, you hear the word shouted during many of the episodes.
Netflix released the first series of the show back on May 24, 2016 and audiences first hear "fauda" around 30 minutes into the first episode.
Character Doron Kavillio, a member of an Israeli snatch squad, is posing as a caterer at a wedding in the West Bank.
He then beats up a Hamas gunman with his bare hands.
A stunned fellow member of the squad shouts “Why?” – with Doron replying" “Fauda, fauda!”
The TV series was created by Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff and is based on their own real-life experiences during military service in a Mista'arvim unit – a counter-terrorism unit of the Israel Defense Forces.
Series three follows an Israeli agent who comes out of retirement to hunt for a Palestinian fighter he thought he's killed – setting off a chain of chaotic events.
