Wendy Williams says she can’t wait to return to work following the show's hiatus due to her 'illness'
WENDY Williams may be off air, but she maxxed out the glamor to update fans on the show's return.
The 55-year-old television host took to Instagram on Wednesday to reveal that she won't be returning to the air with self-taped episodes.
The Wendy Williams Show host explained: "I’m waiting for the state of New York to say that we as a show can go back."
“We got 200 people in our audience, we’ll never have that again. But I want to go back to do our show,” she added.
“Nothing makes me happier than to be Wendy on ‘The Wendy Show”” she told viewers. “What I want the most is to be with you. I miss you. I miss you a lot.”
Wearing a cute pink top with a sweetheart neckline, the often-outspoken host introduced the video as "it's me…from home," and said that it would hopefully not be too much longer before the show can get back to recording episodes in the studio.
They shut down production on March 12 and haven't been broadcasting “@ Home” editions instead, unlike some shows.
A show spokesperson confirmed to Deadline that the show is hoping to begin taping in the studio again.
“The goal is to be back in studio as soon as we are allowed,” said the spokesperson told them. “If that is delayed until later in the year, we may revisit the @ Home shows.”
Last month, Williams announced she would take a hiatus to deal with "fatigue" from her Graves disease.
A production source told The Sun of her hiatus: “Wendy absolutely hates working from home so the quarantine has been really hard on her.
“She’s been struggling with it more behind the scenes than her audience realizes and it got worse the week before her announcement.”
They said she was “in a bad place mentally.”
Wendy split with her husband, Kevin Hunter, last year, after 22 years of marriage after it was alleged he fathered a child with his long-term mistress.
