Watch Adam Lambert Bring Cher to Tears Singing 'Believe' at Kennedy Center Honors

The Queen frontman’s emotional performance also wins over Twitter.

Adam Lambert brought Cher to tears while performing "Believe" at the Kennedy Center Honors.

During the Washington, D.C., ceremony, which was held on Dec. 2 but was televised on Wednesday, the "American Idol" alum hit the stage and put a beautiful spin on Cher’s 1998 hit record. As Lambert sang the famous tune as a soulful ballad, the audience, like Cher, was so emotionally invested there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

Cher began to tear up when the current Queen frontman reached the bridge (around 2:57). However, Lambert really blew Cher and the audience away when he busted out a mind-blowing high note at 3:18.

Cindi Lauper also made a surprise appearance at the Kennedy Center Honors to pay tribute to Cher. Lauper sang "If I Could Turn Back Time," before she and Lambert teamed up to sing Sonny and Cher’s hit "I Got You Babe."

The pop icon, who was just one of the Kennedy Center’s honorees, took to Twitter to gush about Lambert’s incredible performance.

"Tried 2 write Feelings About Adam Lambert Singing," Cher wrote. "Believe In Words,but Cant seem 2.When Your senses are Overwhelmed All Can you feel with your ❤️."

"It was a total honor Cher!!!!" Lambert tweeted in response. "You’re a goddess!"

Twitter exploded following Lambert’s impressive performance. People applauded the rendition of "Believe," with some even saying it was one of the best live TV performances in long time. See their reactions after Cher’s below.
