Vanderpump Rules’ Faith Stowers backtracks after saying Lisa Vanderpump told her to ‘act like Nene Leakes’ – The Sun
Vanderpump Rules’ Faith Stowers has admitted that Lisa Vanderpump did not tell to act like Real Housewives of Atlanta star Nene Leakes.
While Lisa, 59, did instruct Faith, 31, to give her costars attitude and "put them in their place", she never specifically referenced Nene.
Speaking in an interview with with Candace Rice, she claimed when she was brought on to season six of the Bravo show, Lisa told Faith: "I want you to put them in their place, kind of give them this Nene Leakes kind of attitude."
But she has recently clarified that statement saying she interpreted Lisa's instructions as meaning to for her to act like Nene.
“When she told me to put people in their place, I took that as being a Nene Leakes character. And I cleared that up with Nene too, because I know Nene asked me about that,” Faith said this week on the podcast, So Bad It’s Good with Ryan Bailey.
“[Lisa] didn’t say like, [for] me [to] act like Nene. I took that as… She’s the only black woman, I feel like, in the Bravo universe that was putting people in their place.”
RHOA's Nene reached out to Faith to find out what Lisa had said to her.
Faith recalled: “She was like, ‘What the hell?'”
Vanderpump Rules has undergone a massive shakeup as four of its stars were fired over racist actions.
A statement from Bravo read: "Bravo and Evolution Media confirmed today that Stassi Schroeder, Kristen Doute, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni will not be returning to Vanderpump Rules."
It comes after the pair was accused by cast member Faith of reporting her to the police for a crime she wanted not connected to.
Earlier this year, racists tweets from Max and Brett also resurfaced.
Stassi was dropped by multiple sponsors, as well as her agent and publicist, after the allegations came to light, and on Sunday the 31-year-old posted a lengthy note of “remorse” to her 2.1 million Instagram followers on Sunday.
"Racially insensitive comments from my past have resurfaced. It is important that I continue to take accountability for what I have said and done, while pushing myself to do better," she shared.
Faith also called out cast member Brittany Cartwright for allegedly referring to her hair as "nappy."
The 31-year-old claimed that after Brittany found out about her affair with Jax Taylor, the Southern Belle called her hair "nappy."
Faith claimed that she was on a speakerphone call with Scheana Shay to try to apologize to Brittany because she "couldn’t talk to her through production."
She claimed: "So I’m like 'Brittany, hey girl! I’m trying to apologize to you. Can we please talk?
"I’m still trying to stay calm and communicate with her because this is still important for me to hear what she has to say.
"So I’m trying to talk to her and I can still see that she’s upset. And while she’s yelling, that’s when I heard her say, ‘You a nappy-headed ho!'"
