Trust Me returned to BBC One earlier this month (April 16) with a new cast of talented actors playing out the drama on screen in season two. One new Trust Me character is Danny Adams (played by Elliot Cooper) who stars opposite Jamie McCain (Alfred Enoch) and Debbie Dorrell (Ashley Jensen). But who is the actor behind Danny Adams on Trust Me and where may fans recognise Cooper from?
Who plays Danny Adams on Trust Me season 2?
Danny Adams is played by Scottish-born actor Elliot Cooper.
Trust Me season two, episode one saw the introduction of Danny, a patient in the hospital where Trust Me is filmed.
BBC One viewers witnessed Danny confide in Jamie as the pair’s suspicions about the hospital grow.
Despite impressing in Trust Me season two, Danny is actually Cooper’s first ever on-screen role.
WHERE IS TRUST ME FILMED?
Cooper told the BBC: “I work with Birds Of Paradise, Scotland’s leading disability-led Theatre Company.
“They were approached by the casting directing of the opportunity, and as a young, male, wheelchair user I fit the criteria.
“When I was going through the audition process I was telling myself it was never going to happen – but it did!
“It was all a bit surreal, but I was really happy when I got the role – especially because Danny is such an interesting character.”
IS TRUST ME BASED ON A TRUE STORY?
The young actor joins a host of big name actors in the cast of Trust Me.
Former Harry Potter star Enoch leads the cast as Jamie McCain.
Star of Netflix’s After Life and ABC series Ugly Betty Ashley Jensen appears as Debbie Dorrell.
John Hannah, who also recently starred in BBC drama The Victim, portrays character Dr Archie Watson.
Other actors to star in season two of Trust Me include Katie Clarkson-Hill as Dr Zoe Wade, Richard Rankin as Dr Alex Kiernan, and Katie Lyons as Sergeant Ellen Ashurst.
HOW MANY EPISODES ARE IN TRUST ME SEASON 2?
Speaking about his character to the Beeb, Cooper continued: “Danny Adams has a very sharp eye for details. This is useful for pattern recognition and piecing together narratives from the facts and figures that are presented to him.
“He masks his social anxiety (or fears surrounding the unpredictability of people) with his intelligence.
“Danny defines himself as this hyper-intelligent, empirically-driven person because he’s worried about what definitions other people would impose on him if they were given the chance.
“It’s likely that he feels quite isolated from others, not only due to his physical differences but also because of the way he perceives the world.”
“Fundamentally, Danny is kind and caring – he’s just unsure of how to communicate this in a way that is typical.”
Trust Me continues on Tuesday at 9pm on BBC One.
