Tipping Point fans confused by contestant’s ‘easy’ maths question blunder

Tipping Point returned to our screens on Tuesday afternoon as ITV aired the latest episode of the popular game show.

Host Ben Shephard welcomed four contestants to the television studio as they battled it out to win the highly sought after cash prizes.

Owen, Amy, Harry and Sue all answered a series of questions to win turns on an arcade-style machine.

Dropping tokens down a choice of four chutes, they each hoped to knock piles of the counters off a moving shelve – the more they collected, the greater the prize fund.

Football coach Harry had a tricky start during the first round of the competition.

The contestant struggled with a maths question and viewers rushed to their keyboards to criticise his error.

Ben asked the four contestants: "What is 20% of 10?"

Harry buzzed in first and got to answer the question but things didn't quite go to plan.

The player confidently answered: "five."

Ben replied: "Five is 50% Harry. The correct answer is two."

Harry hung his head in shame and viewers at home left a message for him on Twitter.

One fan penned: "Hust came in to find out 20% of 10 is five ….. F**k me I know we have to pay for furlough but VAT has shot up."

Another added: "20% of 10 is five evidentially."

A third wrote: "Harry, are you ok?"

While a fourth person posted: "Harry is hot but that was pretty dumb."

A fifth said: "So today I learnt 20% of 10 is five and Werewolves come out at a New Moon. Learn something new everyday."

Harry and fellow contestant Owen both failed to earn any money during the first round of the game show and were forced to play a sudden death round to see who made it through to the next stage.

Unfortunately for Owen, it was Harry who made it through to the second round of the game show.

Despite making it through to the second round, Harry failed to answer several questions correctly and ended up getting the boot.

Talking ahead of his exit, Harry said: "Thanks Ben I've had a really good day."

Contestants Amy and Sue made it through to the third round.
