The Walking Dead season 10: King Ezekiel stars says survivors suffering from ‘PTSD’

The Walking Dead viewers have a tough few months ahead of them, as a new and bloody war is surely on its way to the AMC show. In the tail end of the show’s ninth season viewers saw many characters being killed off in a surprise turn of events – with the most traumatic seeing a number of survivors’ heads being placed on pikes to stun and debilitate the residents of Hilltop. This heinous act was revealed to have been carried out by Alpha (played by Samantha Morton) – the leader of the Whisperers.

While viewers are expecting a lot of revenge plots against the Whisperers in season ten, Ezekiel star Khary Payton has spoken out about what is really going to happen.

Speaking at the launch of the show’s tenth season, Khary that the residents of the show are struggling to deal with the trauma that they have been subjected to.

He said: “Yeah it’s unique because we’re dealing with people who put skins on their face. That’s just nasty.

“So I’m still trying to get used to that whole idea. There’s that. We’ve already had problems with these guys.”

“Cause lord knows we lose a lot of people. It’s a lot of that. Sounds like a lot of fun doesn’t it? So come on and play guys.”

Despite this, he went on to suggest how the characters will be adapting their lives, and getting through the pain as best they can.

He continued: “But you know what you’re learning to live with trauma and smile through it.

“I think that’s what Ezekiel does best, and so he’ll be doing that again.”

Ezekiel may be working through the trauma of last season, but the rest of the cast will be working on keeping themselves alive in the upcoming episodes.

As revealed by The Walking Dead writer Angela Kang, viewers can expect a lot from the tenth season – including some episodes which could be classed as “tearjerkers”.

Speaking on the show’s red carpet, she explained: “There is stuff that is tearjerker, beautiful character stories, but we’re really trying to find new things to explore,
