The Walking Dead fans left shocked by 'horrific' episode as Darryl and Michonne are tortured and she's forced to KILL child attackers

THE Walking Dead fans were left shocked by "horrific" scenes as Darryl and Michonne were forced to KILL child attackers.

Earlier in the episode, it was revealed in a flashback scene how the pair had got their 'X' scars on their lower bodies.

It transpired that the pair were attacked by a group of children and Michonne's former pal Jocelyn, after Michonne, who was pregnant at the time, and Darryl went on a hunt to find the missing kids.

However, the kids tortured them in brutal scenes that aired this week.

Taking to Twitter, one fan raved: "WHAT KIND OF CHILDREN OF THE CORN NONSENSE IS THIS?? Little monsters branding Darryl and Michonne???

"And excuse me, Jocelyn doesn't blink. She's a straight up cult leader. This is MADNESS."

One more said: "Holy S**t Michonne and Darryl!..holding my breath with a pit in my stomach…no wonder she won't let anyone in Alexandria!…those kids were terrifying!"

But others noticed killing the children was difficult for Michonne (Danai Gurira)after she pleaded with them to set her and Darryl free.

One said: "Michonne was like Darryl don't tell nobody that I killed all these kids."

#TheWalkingDead 914 is one of the most intense, nerve-racking episodes of I ever watched. May be the darkest episode TWD has ever done. But so, so, so, so good. Have someone or something to hold.

Finally watched the most recent episode of #TheWalkingDead and wow. Michonne killing those kids was so traumatic for her. They were too far gone and as a mother you must do whatever to protect your child.

The Walking Dead series nine kicked off last month and UK viewers can watch the series on NOW TV through the service's Entertainment Pass.

Andrew Lincoln (Rick) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Negan) returned after Rick decided to save Negan and keep him prisoner.

However, on November 4, Andrew made his last appearance as Rick in the TV series but show bosses were quick to announce the actor will be returning in three TV movies.
