'The Voice': Chrissy Teigen Hilariously Trolls Show For Stealing Her Husband

Celebrity marriages are still a major challenge, especially when having to be apart most of the year either on concert tours or while filming movies. John Legend and Chrissy Teigen; however, seemed to be working things out well.

If their sarcastic tweets on Twitter help out, they’re now growing even closer thanks to Legend being based in L.A. most of the time for NBC’s The Voice. This isn’t to say Teigen isn’t trolling the show lately on Twitter about keeping him away from home too much. Not that she doesn’t always have a little devious fun on Twitter most of the time.

Is it true, though, Legend is working overly long hours on The Voice? From the comments by Teigen, it sounds worse than if he’d gone on a worldwide tour for the next two years.

How much work is involved in ‘The Voice’?

There’s a lot more involved in reality-competition shows than what’s seen on camera. Considering the judges become invested in coaching the singers each season, it obviously takes a lot of hours out of the day, not including pre-taped segments.

When Legend signed up to be a new judge on The Voice over a year ago, he and Teigen perhaps thought he’d be home from work by evening for dinner. It turns out, this doesn’t seem to be the case.

If anyone follows Teigen on Twitter, she’s been making some snide comments about how Legend is hardly home lately. In one recent tweet, she said: “I had a husband before The Voice”.

She also said if Legend ever came home, she’d probably have to hear him say: “I’m good for next week.”

This was posted on December 4, proving it’s the busiest time of all for The Voice. Then again, Legend may be in demand elsewhere as well, especially during the holidays.

Did John Legend’s excellent Christmas album tie him up for December?

During that same tweeting storm above, Teigen also said she had to make dinner alone. In another tweet, she said she always brings two peeled eggs with her to bed because she wakes up hungry in the middle of the night. Afterward, she tweeted: “I’m so alone.” Most of her fans know her tweets are in jest.

Another possible explanation behind Legend not being home much this time of year is due to his terrific Christmas album that was released last year. The two taped a TV special around it then, and the album itself was re-released this year in a new special edition with bonus tracks.

Because Legend has to perform a lot of the songs off this album, he probably hasn’t been home much as a result. After all, he did perform songs from the album during NBC’s Rockefeller Center tree lighting ceremony in NYC.

Chrissy Teigen is keeping things funny

All of Teigen’s fans love her snarky tweets, which sometimes brutally poke fun at things going wrong in family life. No doubt most people look at Teigen’s comments as just making light of having to be alone.

Nevertheless, far too many similar situations exist in Hollywood marriages that are no laughing matter. Even if these other marriages were stable for a while, being apart too long often led to a split.

Based on Legend and Teigen doing everything they can to be together, this may be a temporary situation. The couple knows how to prioritize each other, even if the schedule for The Voice does serve as a third wheel to their marriage.
