The Boys’ Billy Butcher actor promises ‘truly diabolical s**t’ from anti-hero in Amazon’s season 2 – The Sun

KARL Urban has promised fans of Amazon's superhero drama The Boys some "truly diabolical s**t" in the upcoming second season.

The Amazon Prime drama made waves with its debut season, with many lauding the satirical, bloody take on the superhero genre.

Now the Star Trek actor has spoken out about his character, Billy Butcher, and what fan can expect from him moving forward.

"Butcher is a fun character to play, because of the degree of internal conflict that wages within him," he said.

"There is a war inside of Butcher, and to get to the dawn, you must first travel through the night.

"Butcher has both the tendency to be the villain and the hero, which makes him a hell of a lot of fun to play."

Speaking to CinemaBlend, he added: "Looking at Season 2, some of the s**t that Butcher gets up to is truly diabolical.

"And I pray that I personally don't get the karma payback for what he does.

"I didn't think of it, I didn't write it, but I'm definitely guilty of doing it."

The combination of brutal action sequences, multi-dimensional characters and the nefarious Vought Industries had streamers gripped during season one, so its no surprise the show was renewed.

Season two is slated for release in 2020 and Amazon recently posted a first look trailer.

While little is given away in terms of storyline, the show seems to pick up where it left off, with Vought having created a league of super-powered terrorists to justify the existence of their genetically modified vigilantes.

In fact, having a brokered a deal to get heroes drafted into the US army, it looks as though Outlander and co will be wreaking havoc on an even larger scale.

Starlight, Queen Maeve, The Deep and A-Train will all also appear alongside Billy and Hugh Campbell, who remain as determined as ever to take down the corrupt institution.
