Tamara Ecclestone husband slams Lorraine for ‘joking’ about £50million robbery

Tamara Ecclestone’s husband blasted Lorraine Kelly yesterday for “joking” about his wife being hit by a £50million jewellery raid.

Speaking on her ITV daytime show, Lorraine told viewers she could not understand why the motor racing heiress should spend so much money on gems.

She added: “Just get it all from Claire’s Accessories and nobody will want to steal it.”

But Tamara’s husband Jay Rutland hit back: “Cheers Lorraine. I hope you never have the misfortune to be robbed.”

Three burglars escaped with Tamara’s jewellery collection in a raid on her 57-room London mansion on Friday night.

She, Jay and daughter Sophia, five, were in Lapland, and police will examine whether an Instagram picture of Sophia boarding a private jet alerted the gang.

Tamara, 35, and Jay, 38, were said to be “devastated and angry” at the theft.

They are also amazed that the raiders spent up to 50 minutes in their home, which has extensive security and is guarded round-the-clock.

Armed police are stationed near the mansion in Kensington, west London, because the area is home to several foreign embassies.

Tamara’s father, former-F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone, fears the gang had inside information.

Detectives are investigating why the alarm did not work. It has also been claimed a window was open.
