Susanna Reid GMB: Where is Susanna Reid? Does presenter have coronavirus?

After Prime Minster Boris Johnson’s announcement tonight (Monday, March 16), many people will be opting to not go into work and instead stay at home to self-isolate due to the coronavirus pandemic. One familiar face which viewers won’t be seeing for the next couple of weeks is Good Morning Britiain’s Susanna Reid. But has she got COVID-19? 

Coronavirus is not only affecting the every day people commuting to and from work but celebrities both in the UK and the US.

Earlier this evening, it was revealed actor Idris Elba was tested positive with coronavirus and last week fans found out legendary actor Tom Hanks and his wife also had the virus.

Presenter Susanna Reid has announced tonight she will not be on Good Morning Britain to host the show alongside Piers Morgan.

She will not be on the morning show for the next two weeks.

Where is Susanna Reid?

Susanna Reid will not be presenting Good Morning Britain for the next two week.

She took to Twitter this evening to announce she would be taking a break from the show so she could self-isolate.

The presenter decided to do so after hearing new advice from the Government which said those with symptoms of coronavirus or those living with people with the condition should put themselves into isolation for two weeks. 

Has Susanna Reid got coronavirus?

No presenter Susanna Reid has not got coroanvirus at the moment.

The GMB presenter has announced she will be self-isolating for the next 14 days but this is because someone in her home has shown signs of the virus.

After listening to Government advice and in a bid to protect others from catching COVID-19, she will be staying at home.

She has already confirmed that she is “currently well”.

Taking to Twitter tonight, Reid said: “I am currently well but due to the new advice today I will be self-isolating for two weeks due to symptoms in my household. Stay well everyone.”

So far, there has been no news as to who will be replacing Reid on the morning show to present alongside Piers Morgan.

None of the other usual presenters including Kate Garraway, Ben Shephard and Charlotte Hawkins have said if they will be going into isolation so one of them could be joining the controversial journalist tomorrow.

Viewers will find out who will be Reid’s two-week replacement first thing tomorrow.

This evening, PM Boris Johnson told the country people should avoid mass social gatherings and places such as pubs, restaurants, theatres, offices and general travelling in the near future.

The new advice comes as the death toll from coronavirus for the UK rises to 55.

Thousands of flights have also been cancelled with travel company TUI stopping the “vast majority” of their trips.
