Supernatural boss warns fans tonight’s episode will be the last ‘for a while’ amid coronavirus pandemic – The Sun

SUPERNATURAL’s boss has said that tonight's episode of the show will be its last until further notice due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Andrew Dabb has warned that this evening's chapter, titled Destiny’s Child, will broadcast as normal, but the remaining episodes in the 15th season have been put on hold.

Tweeting out to his followers, he said: "Due to the shutdown, this will be our last episode for awhile.  Stay well, stay safe, and we'll see you on the other side."

He continued: "Clarification: We have filmed through episode 18, however our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak.’

"So, right now, the episodes can't be finished.  However, we have some special treats coming along the way– to help us all get through this."

Fans shouldn’t be down in the dumps about the admission, as he has assured them that they will definitely be coming back with more episodes.

He continued: "And yes, we, the CW, and Warner Bros fully intend to return and finish the series.  It's not a matter of 'if', it's a matter of 'when.'"

The show isn’t the only one that has been thrown into chaos following the COVID-19 pandemic.

Netflix have pulled the plug on all TV and films in the US and Canada until further notice.

The official synopsis for tonight's episode of Supernatural reads: "A search for the one thing that may give the Winchesters an edge against God leads Sam and Dean to Jo’s door and to a secret that may have died with Ruby.’’

‘’Meanwhile, Castiel asks Jack to do the unthinkable to help the brothers in their quest.’’

The timing for the halt in production is poor, as the cast were only two episodes away from completing the 15th season.

In the meantime, fans will be eagerly anticipating the show's return.

Supernatural airs tonight on The CW in the US.
