Strictly’s Adam Thomas dealt crushing blow as he loses out on Soap award
Strictly star Adam Thomas shares update on his health
Waterloo Road star Adam Thomas, who plays Donte Charles, has narrowly missed out on the Inside Soap Award for Best Drama star to Strictly Come Dancing co-star Nigel Harman.
Adam returned to Waterloo Road as Donte back in January 2023 and was thrown into a major storyline when his on-screen wife Chlo Grainger (Katie Griffiths) died.
The star has since joined the world of Strictly Come Dancing for a chance to win the iconic Glitterball trophy.
However, he could have his work cut out as co-star Nigel Harman has already taken the victory for the Best Drama star as Max Cristie in Casualty.
The pair were up against Charles Venn who plays Jacob Masters in Casualty and Kym Marsh who plays Nicky Walters in Waterloo Road.

Despite being a huge hit with viewers and winning the award, Nigel recently revealed that he had no plans to return to the BBC One medical drama.
Previously speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “I left Casualty at the beginning of August. I finished my last scene on Monday, [then I] was here on Friday.
“I’m on screen until the end of February, and [I have] no plans to return at the moment. Basically, I can dedicate my life to sweating and feeling anxious.”
Inside Soap’s executive editor, Gary Gillatt, said: “2023 has proven a battle royale between especially hard-hitting storylines; from Lola’s tragic demise in EastEnders to the shocking acid attack in Coronation Street, and Paddy’s battle with depression in Emmerdale to Maxine’s terrifying walk into the night in Hollyoaks.”
