Strictly pros set to perform ‘awkward’ dance about bad relationships

Strictly fans got a preview of a sizzling routine from the show’s pro dancers on tonight’s It Takes Two, but is there more to it than meets the eye?

Zoë Ball promises we’ll be "seeing red quite literally" as the routine unfolds on Sunday night.

Choreographer Nathan Clarke describes the piece as being “about relationships and the different sides of relationships”

It’s not just a dance routine,” she says, “We’re trying to connect with people and show a different side of the dancers.”

Aljaž Skorjanec introduced the number, which showed him being fought over by Amy Dowden and Oti Mabuse portraying two ‘temptresses’ before returning to his thoroughly unimpressed ‘wife’ Janette Manrara.

Johannes Radebe got a more conventionally romantic scene with Luba and while we weren’t told what Graziano was up to his complex, acrobatic moves are sure to prove a highlight of the show.

But what’s most interesting is the fact that Neil Jones and his wife Katya will be taking part in one of the six dance vignettes.

Quite what aspect of relationships they’ll be acting out is unknown but with their real relationship under scrutiny again this week as Seann Walsh revived the spectre of snog-gate all eyes will be on their part of the routine.

The pair were tucked away in the back corner of the studio and their dance moves were only briefly glimpsed in the preview.

That didn’t stop fans online speculating about what might be going on behind the scenes as the aftershocks from Strictly’s biggest ever scandal continue to affect the dancers’ equilibrium.
