Strictly Come Dancing’s Saffron Barker breaks down as she and AJ Pritchard are eliminated from show

Strictly Come Dancing’s Saffron Barker and her professional dancer partner AJ Pritchard are the ninth couple to have been eliminated from the BBC show.

The YouTuber, 19, and 25 year old AJ were in the bottom two alongside Karim Zeroual and his partner Amy Dowden.

Following the dance-off, the judges voted to keep Karim and Amy on the family favourite show, therefore sending Saffron and AJ home.

Speaking to host Tess Daly after she and AJ were eliminated, a tearful Saffron said: “I’ve had the absolute time of my life and it’s all down to him [AJ]. It’s been amazing.

“I’d like to thank AJ so much, when I look at what I was like on week one I was so embarrassed and shy. He’s really taken me out of my shell. Thank you so much for everything.”

And AJ said of Saffron: “Every single week you’ve approached it with a positive mental attitude and you’ve inspired so many… on your own social media too.

“As a non-dancer starting from day one I’m not going to lie I was a bit scared… but performing those fantastic dances has been amazing. I’ll never, ever, ever forget that dance. The best partner. Thank you."

Taking to Twitter, Saffron shared a selfie with AJ as she emotionally wrote: “So so many emotions.. I am so sad because my strictly journey is over but smiling because I so proud of myself for how far I’ve come. Sometimes you’ve got to give yourself a pat on the back and tell yourself you did good and that’s exactly what I’m doing right now.

“Thank you all for your continued support and of course to my incredible partner @aj11ace.

"I couldn’t of wished for anyone else to of been partnered with. When i look back to week 1 & how nervous and scared i was, u always believed in me. Thanku for your patience & all your laughs.” [sic]

She then added alongside a picture she shared with Karim: “Also, i just want to say I’ve no idea why @kayzer_1 was in the bottom two but there’s no one I’d rather leave for!! Well done karim your dance was a straight 40 from me, love you loads xx #Strictly.” [sic]

AJ similarly gushed over Saffron on his Twitter account as he sweetly hailed her his "Strictly winner”.

The younger brother of Curtis Pritchard wrote: “I’m so Happy & Proud of this young Lady. Saffron has defied my expectations at every turn, attacking each week with Positivity & a lust for life to inspire the nation. Just Thank You for Creating the most memorable & fanatic Strictly 2019 season for me. My Strictly Winner.” [sic]

It comes just days after Saffron’s home was burgled while her family slept, with her sharing the terrifying news in a video, saying her family had woken to discover their cars had been stolen.

Even more terrifying is the fact that the thieves made their way into the family home during the night.

The blonde then revealed she had taken down a video detailing the robbery because a police investigation is ongoing.

Saffron told fans: “I just want to give you a little update because I uploaded a vlog a couple of days ago and I spoke about our house getting burgled, and I did actually take the vlog down because I kind of thought maybe it's a bit too early because the police are still investigating it and stuff.

"But the reason I'm mentioning this is because people who did see the vlog, I've had so many people so worried and concerned and I just want to say thank you so much.

"Me and my family we're totally fine and that's what's most important."
