Strictly Come Dancing viewers in tears as professional makes welcome return

Strictly Come Dancing fans were left in tears as Amy Dowden returned to the dancefloor for the live final.

The 33-year-old Welsh beauty was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and was forced to pull out of the show due to her chemotherapy treatment.

However, the brave star was back showing off her moves on Saturday (December 16) and opened the show in the group number with her fellow professional dancers.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one fan penned: "Amy Dowden made me cry on Strictly." Another added: "I cry my way through the @bbcstrictly final every year without fail, but seeing Amy looking gorgeous in the opening group dance is probably a new record for crying within minutes!." Someone else said: "Amy in the opening number I am going to cry." A fourth social media user said: "So so happy to see Amy on the Strictly floor again this season! What an absolute trooper (also made me cry!)"
