Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Dianne Buswell breaks down in tears over emotional performance

The BBC show depends on the talents of professional dancers to whip the famous contestants into shape for a shot at the Glitterball trophy. One such dancer is Dianne Buswell who will be competing on Strictly Come Dancing for the third time this year. But there’s one memory from her time on the show that left her blubbing in the special programme.

The Australia native joined the BBC staple back in 2017 and made it to the final last year.

Coming back for a third year in a row, Dianne is an important part of the team.

But the moment she recalls that leaves her in tears relates to her first season on the show.

Clearly overcome with emotion as she burst into tears, Dianne shared: “I remember, my dad flew all the way for my very first dance that I did and he started to cry.

This year, Dianne is partnered with Dev Griffin and she has joked that “time’s up” for Joe.

The redhead shared a video to Instagram which saw her sitting in-between her boyfriend and new dancer partner.

“Time’s up,” Dianne joked as she sat between Joe and Dev.

“That’s it, I’m old news,” Joe retorted as Dianne continued: “You’re gone but you’re never forgotten.”

“You’ve got a new partner,” Joe went on.

“My two boys,” Dianne shared as Dev smiled alongside the happy couple.

One person who won’t be competing on the series this year is Jamie Laing who had to withdraw from the competition due to an injury.

He was partnered with Oti Mabuse, but fans needn’t fear that the South African dancer won’t be competing.

She’s now been coupled up with Jamie’s replacement, former Emmerdale actor Kelvin Fletcher.

The Andy Sugden star has spilled that he was delighted to learn that he’d be dancing with Oti, who he claimed was he “favourite”.

“Oh god I was so nervous before,” he said. “But I couldn’t believe I’d been lucky enough to get Oti. She’s my favourite. It’s brilliant. I’m so happy.

“I’m in awe of what Oti and the other professionals do and how good they are.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 7pm on BBC One.
