Strictly Come Dancing 2019: Debbie McGee speaks on return to show

Debbie McGee won hearts across the nation when she was partnered up with Giovanni Pernice on Strictly Come Dancing 2017. Paul Daniels’ widow made it all the way to the final but sadly lost out to Joe McFadden and Katya Jones.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Debbie discussed her time on the show and whether she misses being a dancer on it.

She recalled: “I just loved every second of it. I just think everything. There isn’t one moment that was particularly better than others.

“Each week was different, you know, from the first week meeting the pros and starting to learn the launch number. I just loved it all.

Speaking about this year’s line-up, Debbie continued: “I think it’s really good, I think they’ve got some really different people this time and it’s very diverse.

“This year they’ve got so many things going on, like Gorka and Graziano haven’t got partners, new judge, new pros to look out for, so I think it’s going to be an exciting season.”

And of course, Debbie will be tuning in to the show week on week.

“Absolutely. I love all the pros and I love watching them with new partners and I just love the show.”

But would Debbie like to go back and have her time all over again?

The BBC Radio Berkshire host explained: “No, do you know what, I had the greatest time and stayed friends with lots of them.

“So, no, it’s somebody else’s turn is the way I look at it, I’ve had mine.”

Meanwhile, the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 celebrities are about to go in to their second performance.

Tonight, they will dance in week two, but the stakes are a lot higher this time as one will be eliminated.

So far, it’s looking like James Cracknell and his partner Luba Mushtuk will be the first to exit the competition.

They came at the bottom of the leaderboard in week one, and as a result, haven’t been as popular with gamblers.

According to Coral, James is evens to leave Strictly this weekend, and is closely followed by David James at 3-1.

John Hill from the bookmakers told Express.co.uk“Nobody wants to be the first contestant to leave Strictly but the our betting suggests it could be two former sports stars under the most pressure this weekend as James Cracknell and David James are the favourites to face the dance-off.”

Meanwhile, it’s looking to be Kelvin Fletcher’s to lose, as he is currently tipped to win the competition with odds of 6-4.

He faces tough competition from Karim Zeroual at 4-1 and Emma Barton at 5-1.

The spokesperson continued: “Nobody wants to be the first contestant to leave Strictly but the our betting suggests it could be two former sports stars under the most pressure this weekend as James Cracknell and David James are the favourites to face the dance-off.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues tonight on BBC One at 6.40pm.
