Stranger Things season 3 trailer: Nancy’s death sealed in terrifying Mind Flayer attack?

Stranger Things fans have been waiting a long time for the third run and the final teaser for series three has just dropped teasing plenty of action, and heartache.

Eleven (played by Millie Bobby Brown), Mike (Finn Wolfhard), Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) and Will (Noah Schnapps), and Max (Sadie Sink) were all set to move on with their lives.

But just as they get comfortable, the Mind Flayer returns, suggesting Eleven actually trapped it in their world instead of in the Upside Down.

And, the terrifying monster also seems to have taken over Billy’s body (Dacre Montgomery) in order to take revenge on the kids.

The third and final trailer for the new series shows a huge showdown in the new shopping mall Star Court.

Unfortunately for fans, it looks like Nancy Wheeler (Natalie Dyer) could die in a tragic turn of events.

One shot from the new footage shows the beloved character fearing for her life as she is trapped under the Mind Flayer.

Could her final moments have been revealed?

Meanwhile, fans will be hoping Eleven will finally get to live like a normal kid and in peace with Chief Hopper (David Harbour).

Eleven can be heard insisting: “I can fight,” as Chief Hopper replies: “You can better than any of us but I need you safe.”

It seems Joyce (Winona Ryder) is also fearful for her children as she calls out asking for them to be protected.

“Our kids are in danger,” she yells. “We have to put an end to this.”

Will the kids, along with Joyce and Chief Hopper be able to put an end to the Mind Flayer and protect the town of Hawkins once again?

It comes after Finn star Mike teased what fans can expect from the latest instalment.

He told Pilot TV Magazine: “The first season was more about the adventure aspect and kind of fun, the second season was more about the horror aspect.

“Season three is everything, like the fun of season one and the horror of season two and the Duffers have got better at it, at writing it.”

The synopsis for the final season reads: “It’s 1985 in Hawkins, Indiana, and summer’s heating up.

“School’s out, there’s a brand new mall in town, and the Hawkins crew are on the cusp of adulthood. Romance blossoms and complicates the group’s dynamic, and they’ll have to figure out how to grow up without growing apart.

“Meanwhile, danger looms. When the town’s threatened by enemies old and new, Eleven and her friends are reminded that evil never ends; it evolves. Now they’ll have to band together to survive, and remember that friendship is always stronger than fear.”

Stranger Things season 3 drops on Netflix on July 4.
