Spoilers: Abi steals drugs from the hospital after a devastating loss in Corrie

Abi Franklin (Sally Carman) resorted to extreme measures in Coronation Street, as she stole morphine from the hospital following her life-threatening accident.

Abi was due to meet Seb (Harry Visinoni) so that she could bid adieu to Charlie and Lexie, but tragedy struck in Wednesday’s (August 19) episode.

As she worked on a car in the garage, the engine fell on her — trapping her to the floor.

Peter (Chris Gascoyne) acquired the keys of Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall) so that he could pick up his car from the garage, and once he entered he discovered that Abi was in danger.

He came to her rescue, and in tonight’s episode (August 21), she was taken the hospital — where Kevin (Michael Le Vell) and Seb later joined her after they’d learned what had happened.

Seb revealed that Charlie and Lexie had left for Australia — meaning Abi missed out on her chance to say goodbye — and she was devastated as a result.

A heartbroken Abi hopped out of bed and stole morphine from the medicine trolley — but Peter witnessed the whole thing.

Will he be able to talk Abi out of taking the drugs?
