So….Here's Why Farrah Abraham Isn't on the New Season of "Teen Mom OG'

Does it feel like this season of Teen Mom OG is a little less messy than usual? It’s probably because one of the original OGs, Farrah Abraham, is missing. Whether you love her or hate her, you have to admit that she’s a drama-magnet that made the show much crazier. Farrah been replaced by newcomer Cheyenne Floyd, but the actual story behind her departure is (unsurprisingly) kinda confusing. Here’s why you won’t see Farrah on this season of Teen Mom OG.

As you probably know, Farrah kicked her reality television career off on 16 and Pregnant when she was in high school. Her episode was one of the most dramatic of the series; she crashed her car, fought with her parents and friends, and tried to keep the pregnancy a secret. (Even from Derek, the father, who passed away in a car accident just before Sophia was born.) Then, she went on to Teen Mom, where she was always feuding with someone. It’s basically been a rollercoaster since day one.

Farrah’s journey with the Teen Mom franchise ended last year after she was forced to quit. She decided to pursue a career in adult entertainment, which the show’s producers were totally against. Apparently, Farrah told the producers that she would not be involved in anymore “adult videos,” but then proceeded to share webcam videos, which she felt were a completely different ballgame. You can see some of the conversation in a video, here:

It wasn’t just Farrah’s involvement in the adult industry that the Teen Mom producers had a problem with. She was notoriously difficult to work with, and often butt heads with the production crew. Yikes.

So, it’s still kind of unclear whether Farrah “quit” or “was fired” but either way, it’s messy enough to warrant a visit from Marie Kondo. After Farrah left the show, she took to Facebook to share her feelings.

“Viacom let me go because as a Business Mogul, I act like an adult and partake in adult promotions and activities that other adults do for FREE or in private!” she wrote in a pretty lengthy post that spilled all of her thoughts on her decision. “I am proud of myself not giving in to be sex shamed by Viacom network. Proud to not have a network take away financial opportunities for my goals, proud to be an advocate for a healthy sex life, safe sex, teen pregnancy prevention, and so much more while I run companies in different fields and scale them.”

Although Farrah’s departure from the show means that she won’t be appearing on the 10 year anniversary season of Teen Mom OG, she says she’s actually down to join the cast again.

“I really miss it,” she said. “I’m not digging the low ratings and people leaving the show, so I really feel like if I come back I want it to be positive. I really hope I could bring it back. If they ever need me, I’m back here.”

Well, there you have it. Farrah’s not allowed to be on Teen Mom anymore because she chose her other career opportunities instead, but she’d still return if MTV gave her another shot.
