Snowpiercer Season 2 Teaser Reveals Sean Bean's Character
The first season of dystopian sci-fi show Snowpiercer came to an end last night, and there was surprise for fans who made it to the final episode. TNT aired a teaser for Season 2, which was already in production before the COVID-19 pandemic shut down productions across Hollywood. Warning, spoilers ahead!
The teaser is short, but it does provide a big reveal. We already knew that Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones star Sean Bean was cast in Snowpiercer Season 2, and now we know who he’ll be playing. Bean will appear as Mr. Wilford, the creator of the show’s titular vehicle. For much of Season 1, Wilford is presumed dead, but is revealed to be alive in the final episode. And the teaser provides our first look at him. Check it out below.
Snowpiercer is based on Bong Joon-ho’s acclaimed 2013 movie about a huge train that races through a modern Ice Age, keeping its passengers safe from the uninhabitable world outside. The series stars Jennifer Connelly (Alita: Battle Angel), Daveed Diggs (Hamilton, Blindspottting), Mickey Summer (American Made), Annalise Basso (Slender Man), Steven Ogg (The Walking Dead), and Timothy V. Murphy (Sons of Anarchy).
While we don’t yet have a premiere date for Snowpiercer Season 2, there are already plans for further seasons. In an interview with Collider, showrunner Graeme Manson hinted at the long-term future of the show. “There are as many Snowpiercer stories as there are trains that you can imagine,” he said. “I think it’s a franchise that you could reboot, in a different time, on a different train, or with a different cast. With this cast, let’s hope that we’re looking at five or six seasons.”
