Simon Cowell’s furious girlfriend Lauren Silverman accuses him of having an affair with Mel B – The Sun
SIMON Cowell’s furious girlfriend Lauren Silverman accused the star of having an affair with Mel B.
In a series of angry messages, the 42-year-old confronted Simon’s America’s Got Talent co-judge.
News of the unlikely spat comes after Amanda Holden’s eight-year-old daughter Hollie suggested the couple had secretly split-up.
Tonight a source said: “Poor Lauren adores Simon but is naturally very suspicious of all the female attention he gets.
“Because he’s so charismatic, women flock to him – and it riles Lauren.
“Understandably, the fact she and Simon still aren’t married, despite having a son together, makes her a bit more insecure.
“Simon obviously gets on well with Mel and all his female co-stars, but that’s all there’s ever been to it; absolutely no hint of romance.
"They were both pretty livid – and mortified – when Lauren accused them of a ridiculous affair which never, ever happened.
“Things have been resolved now, and everyone is on good speaking terms – but, for a while, it was obviously extremely awkward.”
Former Spice Girl Mel, 44, quit the talent show last year – but her decision to go is not thought to be related to the 2018 incident.
The singer and supermodel Heidi Klum were replaced by Julianne Hough and Gabrielle Union.
American socialite Lauren has been dating the X Factor mogul, 60, since 2013.
The couple split their time between Los Angeles and London, and have a six year old son, Eric.
Despite this, bachelor Simon – whose ex’s include Sinitta, Terri Seymour and former glamour model Jackie St Clair – has proven reluctant to get married.
During an Instagram Live on Saturday night – which was leaked today, Simon Britain’s Got Talent co-star Amanda, 49, was forced to hastily deny claims the couple had split.
The popular star was discussing the moment she played her new NHS charity single, Over The Rainbow, to the multi-millionaire tycoon.
Chatting to her 1.4million followers, she said: “I thought I'll take [the album] round and have a cup of tea and see what he thinks, I don't know why I did that – it was one of the most nerve-wracking things I have ever done in my whole of my life.
“I was sat in his lounge; I had some lovely homemade biscuits from Geoff the chef. I don't think they have a chef in lockdown.
“In fact, lovely Lauren, Simon's girlfriend, sent me some lovely pictures of them cooking the other day. Simon's quite good at cooking, I think.”
When the youngster interrupted to say: “I thought they broke up?”, the singer quickly told her: “Don't be stupid!”
Simon and Lauren’s spokesman was forced to insist the couple were still together, and remaining in lockdown in LA.
