Sick Ruth Langsford pulls out of This Morning as she is replaced last minute

This Morning 's Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford usually host the show together on Fridays as they step in for usual presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby.

But Eamonn took to social media to reveal that Ruth won't be on the show today because she is ill.

Sharing a picture of himself with Rochelle Humes, he told fans that his wife won't be on air, and will be replaced by the former Saturdays singer instead.

He posted: "In 4 Ruth. The Bad News is Ruth a bit under the weather today.

"The Good news is Rochelle and I will pair up again.

"A delightful friend and colleague and Always a joy to be around."

His fans rushed to share their good wishes for Ruth, as they posted messages of support of the picture of Eamonn and Rochelle.

One posted: "Get well soon Ruth – it's not the same without you!"

Another added: "Good morning Eamon. Hope Ruth feels better soon."

A third chipped in: "Hope Ruth is feeling better very soon."

A fourth wrote: "Hope she hasn't got coronavirus!"

Throughout this week, Phillip and Holly have been talking to experts about coronavirus, and the lengths show bosses have been going to to keep the virus at bay.

Phillip said yesterday: "I’m worried. I’m worried, just here now. I think I would be reflecting what a lot of people watching would maybe think.

"This is the first time we’ve nearly heard of survival of the fittest?’

Dr Zoe appeared on the show yesterday to give calming advice to both the presenter and the viewers at home.

She said: "I am afraid for some of my [older] patients.

"But it takes all of us to do the right thing, which at the moment is to follow the advice to protect those that are vulnerable."
