Savage ways celebs have hit back at exes – from sex jibes to music videos and eyewatering '£1MILLION credit card bill'

THEY say revenge is a dish best served cold, but some celebrities have come up with some pretty 'creative' ways to get back at their ex when things have turned sour.

Just this week, Harry Styles’ girlfriend Olivia Wilde was said to feel “humiliated” after being cruelly served custody papers on stage.

The actress, who has two children with Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis, looked flustered while opening the envelope marked “Personal and Confidential” in front of hundreds of fans.

While an insider close to Jason said he had no knowledge the papers would be served in that way and there's no suggestion he had any idea how they would be delivered, there have been times stars have done something intentionally to make their feelings known.

Here, we take a look at just some of the ways celebrities have made some very public 'digs' after a break-up…

Racking up '£1m credit card bill'

Before marrying Rachel Weisz in 2011, James Bond actor Daniel Craig was engaged to Hollywood producer Satsuki Mitchell.

The pair were together for seven years before going their separate ways in 2010, after he was believed to have left her for his now wife, whom he wed six months later.

Understandably upset, Satsuki was reported by Perez Hilton to have hit Craig where it hurt financially – by allegedly racking up $1m on his credit card.

Following the split, her father Christopher told the Mail: "His sudden marriage came out of nowhere.

"We heard about it like everyone else, by reading the newspapers. She doesn’t mention his name now and tells me off if I do."

Dressing-up dig

When Sum 41 rocker Deryck Whibley – who was married to Avril Lavigne between 2006 and 2009 – opted to dress up as the singer for Halloween, it caused quite the reaction.

Along with his now-wife Ari Cooper, Deryck dressed up as the singer and her then-beau, Nickleback singer Chad Kroeger.

While it's not known if Avril found it funny, overall it didn't seem to go down particularly well.

Chad tweeted in response: "We were going to dress up as you guys this year, but all the parties had celebrity themes."

Bizarre video vendetta

Kanye West and Kim Kardashian officially split in 2021, and have both been seeing other people – but it seems the rapper isn't overjoyed by Kim's choice of boyfriend.

In a bizarre animated video for his song Eazy, he rapped about her new beau Pete Davidson, saying: "God saved me from the crash, just so I can beat Pete Davidson's a**."

As the lyrics are said, the animation showed a cartoon version of Pete being buried alive by Kanye.

Kim has repeatedly asked Kanye to keep their personal matters private, however it appears those pleas fell on deaf ears.

Hiring a lookalike

Justin Timberlake and Britney Spears were the ultimate music power-couple when they dated between 1999 and 2002 after first meeting as pre-teens on The Mickey Mouse Club..

However, after their split Justin appeared to make quite the statement when he hired a Britney lookalike for his Cry Me A River music video.

The famous 2002 video portrays Justin catching a girl who looked like Britney 'cheating' on him.

Years later, Britney told Rolling Stone: "He called me up [and said] 'And by the way, you’re in a video that’s coming out. Don’t worry about it. It’s not a big deal.'

"The record label called and said, 'If you want to change this, you can.' I had the power to say no to the video. But I didn’t, because I thought, 'Hey, it’s your video.'

"I hadn’t seen it. Then it came out, and I said, 'I should’ve freakin’ said no to this s**t!'"

Setting the house on fire

TLC's Lisa 'Left Eye' Lopes was known for her incredible musical talent, before she tragically died in a car crash in 2002.

However, in 1994 it was burning her boyfriend Andre Rison's house to the ground that gained her headline attention.

After a nasty argument, rumoured to be over trainers, Lopes allegedly set fire to a pair of his footwear in the bath, then went outside and smashed the windshields of two of his sports cars.

After handing herself into authorities, she was charged with arson and released on $75,000 bail.

She entered rehab for alcohol abuse and received five years probation and a $10,000 fine.

Despite all this, the pair reunited, and had planned to wed before Lisa's death.

Sex jibes

Despite recently lashing out at ex Kim, it seems Kanye does not take kindly when the boot is on the other foot.

He was left fuming when his ex Amber Rose – who he dated between 2008 and 2010 – claimed to reveal a little more than he would have liked about their sex life.

After she was caught up in a separate Twitter spat in 2016, Amber Tweeted: "Awww @kanyewest are u mad I'm not around to play in ur a*****e anymore?"

Kanye responded by writing: “Exes can be mad but just know I never let them play with my a**… I don’t do that… I stay away from that area all together."

Whether all these reactions were harmless pranks or malicious attempts of sabotage – all's fair in love and war, as they say.
