Sarah Paulson Updates Fans on ‘American Horror Story’ Season 10 and ‘American Crime Story: Impeachment’
Looks like Sarah Paulson will start work on American Horror Story Season 10 and American Crime Story: Impeachment very soon. During promotions for Netflix’s Ratched, Paulson opened up about her concerns with filming amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. But now, the actor has a better idea of what to expect as production for both projects draws near.
Sarah Paulson voices concerns about returning to work
In an interview with Variety published on Sept. 1, Paulson revealed she would be headed back to work soon. Though she also voiced some concerns about safety because of the pandemic.
“I want it to be safe,” Paulson said. “And before that happens, I would like the world to have some sort of massive rectifying of the way this has all been handled, and have some forward motion in terms of coming up with something to help us deal with this.”
The actor also wondered how production would deal with the collaborative nature of the craft.
“I think I am going back to work soon,” Paulson said. “But I have to say the conversations that we’ve been having about beginning again all exclude the part of this that is the most delicious part, which is being together. The collaborative excitement and that feeling that you’re really making something with all of these people, and they are just as invested as you are, feeling that vibrational thing that happens.”
She continued, “I don’t know how we’re going to access that with shields, masks and gloves, and pods. The camaraderie and the community is a thing to really consider.”
Sarah Paulson reveals how she feels about returning to ‘American Horror Story’ and ‘American Crime Story’ amid the coronavirus pandemic
While Paulson may be concerned about interacting with the cast and crew, the actor seems confident in Ryan Murphy Television and Disney’s 20th Television to produce both American Horror Story and Impeachment safely.
“The consideration around all of it has been extraordinary,” Paulson told The Wrap on Sept. 3. “Disney and Ryan Murphy Television have all been very, very on top of it. And so I feel as protected as I can feel, given that I will be mask-free, working on a set around a bunch of people.”
She then admitted filming the projects is still “intimidating and nervewracking.” And ultimately, months of quarantining made hours on set with over a hundred people seem almost impossible and “really scary,” But Paulson still hopes for the best.
“Apparently, once you’re there and see all the protocols that have been taken, people tend to feel more relaxed than they expected to,” she said. “So here’s hoping.”
When will ‘AHS’ Season 10 and ‘Impeachment: American Crime Story’ start filming?
Still speaking with The Wrap, Paulson revealed she will start production on American Crime Story: Impeachment within the next few weeks. That is if everything goes accordingly.
“Impeachment I’m starting very, very soon,” she said. “In the next few weeks, actually. That’s the plan, anyway. That could, of course, change, because everything is very much alive in that way and changing constantly.”
Meanwhile, Ryan Murphy recently confirmed AHS Season 10 will begin in October.
“Looks like American Horror Story Season 10 is go for an October (fitting) production launch,” the co-creator wrote on Instagram on Aug. 28. “Thanks to everyone who is working hard to assure a safe start for the cast and crew.”
