Samuel L. Jackson Finally Learns That He’s Not Banned From ‘SNL’ Despite F-Bomb Mishap

The 73-year-old, who famously dropped an F-bomb during a ‘What’s up With That?’ sketch on the live comedy show in December 2012, previously jokingly blamed the mishap on cast member Kenan Thompson.

AceShowbizSamuel L. Jackson may be able to return to “Saturday Night Live“. “The Last Days of Ptolemy Grey” actor reveals during his appearance on Entertainment Weekly’s “The Awardist” podcast that “SNL” ringleader Lorne Michaels assured him that he’s not banned from the hit NBC comedy show despite dropping F-bomb in a 2012 episode.

Samuel claimed that he met Lorne an elevator as the latter was getting off. The “Avengers: Endgame” actor shared that he later asked, “Are you ever gonna let me back on the show?” He also said that he pulled his mask down so that Michaels would recognize him.

According to the actor, Lorne responded, “You’re not banned!” The twosome then went back and forth with Samuel said, “Yes, I am!” Lorne, however, insisted, “No, you’re not!”

Concluding the fight, Samuel quipped, “So maybe I’m not. I don’t know.” Entertainment Weekly said it recently confirmed that there is no official ban keeping Jackson from returning to the show.

The 73-year-old famously dropped an F-bomb during a “What’s up With That?” sketch on the live comedy show in December 2012. He then jokingly blamed the mishap on cast member Kenan Thompson during an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” in March.

“Kenan got me banned from ‘Saturday Night Live’,” he told guest host Leslie Jones, who used to be a cast member of the sketch comedy show. “He didn’t cut me off soon enough and I said the forbidden word on television,” he explained. “He was supposed to cut me off!”

“I told him, if Sam was about to curse, you’re supposed to cut him off. You know that’s how we do it,” the actor shared. “He didn’t?” she asked, to which Samuel shook his head no. “Then I’m going to talk to him about that,” she promised, “I will scold him on that.”

Prior to that, Samuel also jokingly blamed Kenan, with whom he starred in “Snakes on a Plane“, for the mishap though his story changed a little with time. In a video that he shared on Twitter shortly after the episode aired, he claimed that he’d only said “fuh” on air, not the actual word.
