Ruth Langsford speaks to Phil for the first time on TV since ‘formal complaint’
Ruth Langsford spoke to Phillip Schofield for the first time on TV today since reportedly making a formal complaint against him.
The pair awkwardly interacted as This Morning host Phil asked Ruth what was coming up next on Loose Women at lunchtime.
Phil and Ruth haven't spoken in front of the camera since it was reported that Ruth made an official complaint against him.
Ever since ITV began their new schedule, the main panelist has often gone into the main This Morning studio to discuss what is coming up on Loose Women.
Instead, however, Ruth stayed in the other studio during the crossover and said: "Hello, it's just me, it's just me on my own."
Phil responded: "Oh no!"
Ruth said: "It's nice to talk to you two."
"You could have come in here," said Phil.
"I could have, couldn't I. I'll do that next time," replied Ruth.
Phil laughed: "You know where it is!"
"It's just across there isn't it," said Ruth. "I'll find my way don't worry about it."
Ruth allegedly lodged an official complaint against Phil back in April after he interrupted her live on air in April last year.
However ITV dismissed rumours of a "toxic atmosphere" on This Morning as "malicious gossip", insisting there's no issue between Phillip and his co-host Holly.
"It's deeply disappointing and unfair for Phillip to be the target of this sort of malicious gossip," said a spokeswoman for the broadcaster.
"Phillip is a much respected broadcaster and colleague and this is absolutely not a description of This Morning that we recognise.
"Holly and Phil are great friends both on and off screen and are popular among viewers and colleagues alike."
*This Morning airs weekdays at 10am on ITV
