Robert Pattinson’s Batman’s suit unveiled – and fans spot heartbreaking detail
The highly anticipated teaser of The Batman has finally been dropped by director Matt Reeves.
And fans of the bat in black are in a frenzy of excitement as Robert Pattinson will done the cape for the first time.
The clip is less than a minute long but gave fans just enough to psych them up for the release next year.
Although the video is shot in dimly-lit conditions, you can just about make out the outline of a figure walking slowly towards the camera.
And many eagle-eyed film buffs have spotted a key – and poignant – detail in the new Bat Suit
When the light hits the Batman logo on the front of the Batsuit, it looks suspciously like a gun split into two.
Fans are convinced this isn't any old gun and has a very special meaning to the lead character.
Die-hard DC fans will know that Bruce Wayne's parents were shot by Joe Chill in an alleyway after leaving a film screening with their son.
And since their death has been shown time and time again in each adaptation, it makes sense that it serves as a reminder as to why Bruce became Batman in the first place.
One said: "THE BATMAN LOGO IS MADE FROM THE SAME GUN THAT KILLED HIS PARENTS"
Another agreed: "Bro if this is really a Bat Symbol made from the GUN THAT KILLED BRUCE WAYNE’S PARENTS THEN THIS IS ALREADY THE BEST BATMAN PUT TO FILM! HOLY SHIT!"
Whereas, someone else was more interested in the quality of the suit: "Well, that Bat's out of the bag and I like it, I think?
"Love the texture of the logo and like the collar, but unsure about the armoured suit and the cowl… stitched leather? We'll see. Maybe it'll grow on me."
Talking to Variety, Robert described the moment he put on the Batsuit, saying: "You do feel very powerful immediately.
"And it’s pretty astonishing, something that is incredibly difficult to get into, so the ritual of getting into it is pretty humiliating.
"You’ve got five people trying to shove you into something. Once you’ve got it on, it’s like, ‘Yeah, I feel strong, I feel tough, even though I had to have someone squeezing my butt cheeks into the legs.’"
The remake stars Robert Pattinson as Batman, Colin Farrell as Penguin, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman and John Turturro as Carmine Falcone.
Batman will be released on June 25 2021.
