Ridley Scott's New Sci-Fi Series, Raised By Wolves, Gets New Trailer

HBO has released a new trailer for Raised By Wolves, a new series that “centers on two androids tasked with raising human children on a mysterious virgin planet.” The 10-episode drama is expected to premiere on HBO Max on September 3, and you can watch the trailer below.

The trailer reveals a moody, stark, and perhaps somewhat surprisingly human tone to what is clearly a tension-filled sci-fi show–not a shock, given that the show is executive produced by Ridley Scott (Alien, Blade Runner). Scott is slated to direct the series premiere and the second episode, so the official synopsis about a “burgeoning colony of humans… torn apart by religious differences” and “androids learn[ing] that controlling the beliefs of humans is a treacherous and difficult task” promises to be thought-provoking and also, if we can say, probably awesome. These episodes also mark Scott’s TV directorial debut, so that in and of itself is an endorsement speaking to the series’ quality.

Raised by Wolves’ is created by Aaron Guzikowski (The Red Road, Contraband). Its cast includes Travis Fimmel (Vikings), Ivy Wong (Star Wars: Rogue One, Maleficent 2), Felix Jamieson (Game of Thrones, The Ghost), and Abubakar Salim (Fortitude, Jamestown).

The series is produced by Scott’s Scott Free Productions, with Scott, writer and creator Guzikowski , David W. Zucker (The Man in the High Castle), Jordan Sheehan (The Terror), Adam Kolbrenner (Prisoners), and Mark Huffam (The Martian) serving as executive producers.
