‘Project Runway’ Returns To Original Home Bravo With 90-Minute Episode On March 14

Project Runway returns to original home Bravo with a 90-minute episode on March 14. The fashion format heads back to the NBCUniversal cable network for Season 17 after 11 seasons on rival Lifetime with a supersized episode at 8 PM.

Supermodel Karlie Kloss stars as host with former Project Runway champion and fashion designer Christian Siriano as the mentor. Elle Editor-in-Chief Nina Garcia returns as a judge, along with fashion designer Brandon Maxwell and former Teen Vogue Editor-in-Chief Elaine Welteroth.

In the series, 16 new designers from across the U.S. and abroad will compete a chance to show their collection during an exclusive runway show for industry insiders and influencers as well as win the largest cash prize in the show’s history.

The new season will include flash sales, fast fashion, the inclusion of plus-size models, Instagram and a special Elton John challenge inspired by Paramount Pictures’ biopic Rocketman.

The makeover comes as signature stars Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn recently exited after 16 seasons to develop, produce and headline a new fashion reality series for Amazon Prime Video. Designer-judge Zac Posen, who joined Project Runway in Season 11, taking over for Michael Kors, also left the series ahead of the Bravo relaunch.

Original production company Magical Elves, run by Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz, is producing alongside new Weinstein Company owner Lantern Entertainment. The deal marked one of the first big moves for Lantern, whose bid to acquire the assets of TWC, which included Project Runway, was approved by the Delaware bankruptcy court in May. Cutforth and Lipsitz exec produce alongside Gaylen Gawlowski, Casey Kriley and Nan Strait, Andy Mitchell and Milos Brajovic and star Kloss.
