Mike Tindall has divided the public over his appearance in ITV’s I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and the royal stories he has been recalling. He recently revealed how his trousers split in front of his mother-in-law Princess Anne and the cheeky slogan printed on his underwear. Best friend and former rugby colleague James Haskell joined Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley, where he explained he felt Princess Anne would “not bat an eyelid” over the revelations.
On Monday night, Mike, Seann Walsh and Babatunde Alesha began to discuss their opinions on suits, to which Mike said: “I love a suit.
“My problem with suits is I over-exaggerate dancing at weddings… I rip a lot of suits, trousers and stuff.
“Zara had like a 30th birthday, it was a disco 70s themed one, I was dancing on the dance floor, I had like flares on.
“Full outfit but it was quite tight, nothing ever fits – rugby player’s bum and legs – so I was dancing with my mother-in-law and I did a sl*t drop in front of my mother-in-law.”
Speaking in the Bush Telegraph, Seann exclaimed: “Mike sl*t dropped in front of Princess Anne and that is not the end of the story… that’s already, what are you thinking?”
Mike added: “Ripped my trousers, straight in front of her. It happened to be that my boxers that I had on at that time said ‘nibble my nuts.'”
Sean and Babatúndé let out a laugh and applauded before Mike continued: “As I’ve turned round, she’s gone, ‘I’d rather not.’ I’ve gone, ‘I’m going’ and walked off.”
Seann continued: “What a legend. Absolute legend. I would love to go to a party with Mike.”
Many viewers weren’t sure as to whether these stories would be tarnishing the Royal family, and thought Mike had gone too far.
However, James set the record straight on Good Morning Britain and claimed he felt Princess Anne wouldn’t mind.
James explained: “First of all. The fact that it is suggested that Princess Anne is going to react in a certain way, you are guessing.
“I think one of the things people do about the royal family is that they guess. They have perceptions, they have what they would like it to be.

“When actually, they are a normal family, in a normal way and I think one of the things, in 2022 they are striving to be more open, King Charles has talked about his desire to kind of streamline what they are doing.
“Show them in more of a human side, you saw them mourning. The humanisation of the family is what is important.”
Touching on what Mike said, James explained: “I don’t think he has exploded, I think what he has done is drawn the curtain back and said something very funny.
“I think it humanises Princess Anne, who has got an amazing sense of humour and I have seen it first hand.”
Susanna asked: “Did he ask for her permission before he went on?” to which James said: “I think he had to get all sorts of permission to do that.
“But he is not a working royal, Zara is not a working royal. He is entitled to do what he wants to do and I think it’s not King Charles or Prince William making them statements.
“It is somebody that is so far removed. She wouldn’t have batted an eyelid, I don’t think it would have even registered. It was a joke and it was funny.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
