Piers Morgan's children's lives drastically change due to coronavirus

Piers Morgan has admitted he feels lucky he’s been able to continue hosting Good Morning Britain amid the coronavirus crisis – as his childrens’ lives are changed forever.

The controversial telly host started this morning’s episode of the show by talking about how much the work has changed over the last 10 weeks, especially for his sons.

Piers is a father of four – three sons, Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Albert, 19; and eight-year-old daughter Elise – who have all had to adjust to life due to lockdown rules.

Speaking on today’s episode, Piers said in comparison, his life has been fairly OK.

‘I can’t occasionally go to restaurants or go on planes,’ he told Susanna Reid.

‘We can actually come to work, and we’ve probably been working much harder than we ever had. I haven’t noticed much of a change.’

‘You get used to these things, don’t you?,’ he said.

But in comparison, his son, in particular Stanley, could have a massive shift in his future career plans after recently graduating from acting school.

‘There’s no acting going on! There are no theatres,’ Piers said.

‘It’s very tough for young people. All of his class have come out of a top drama school, they’re all about to burst into the world of acting, and now they’re all sat at home!’

He added: ‘They’re all doing a lot of creative stuff now within the limitations of what they have and their circumstance, and that I think is also a challenge for people.’

But without that kind of motivation, Piers said he can understand why people may feel demotivated.

‘It’s quite easy to feel slumpy, lethargic and want to give up and watch telly all day,’ Piers added.

The TV anchor will be able to put his feet up next week as all three main hosts – Piers, Susanna and Dr Hilary Jones – will be taking a week off for the half term holiday.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays from 6am on ITV.
