Piers Morgan on rumours son is off to Love Island as he heads to South Africa

Piers Morgan savagely dubbed Love Island stars "cretins" as he let slip that one of his hunky sons is currently on holiday in South Africa.

The line-up for the ITV2 dating show was revealed last night.

Among the sexy singles heading into the villa for the first ever winter series are Rochelle Humes' lookalike sister, Lewis Capaldi's ex-girlfriend, an heir and a police officer.

But Piers' co-host Susanna Reid teased him that one of his sons could be on their way into the villa too.

Piers is dad to Spencer, 26, Stanley, 22, and Albert, 19, as well as daughter Elise, eight, and he really wasn't happy about the suggestion his sons were set to star on the show.

When the conversation on today's Good Morning Britain turned to the hit show, Piers said: "Why are these cretins back in the winter?"

As he discussed the line-up, he let slip that one of his handsome sons is in Cape Town, where the show is being filmed for the first time.

Susanna jokingly asked: "Has he gone to Cape Town to go on Love Island?"

But Piers fired back: "My sons get regularly approached for these shows but they know I'll write them out of the will if they go on."

This year's show will be overseen by presenter Laura Whitmore for the first time ever, while her boyfriend, comedian Iain Stirling, provides the hilarious voiceover.

A new line-up of sexy single lads and lasses is headed for the villa in the hit show's first ever Winter series.

They'll be doing whatever it takes to couple up and get their hands on the £50,000 prize money.

The line-up also includes a set of female twins, but of course, it's not yet complete.

So far, five boys and seven girls have been announced.

Bombshells will be sent into the villa throughout the series, and plenty of drama is promised with recoupling ceremonies and wandering eyes.
