Piers Morgan calls Gareth Southgate 'disgraceful' for keeping quiet about positive Covid test 3 days after seeing him

PIERS Morgan has revealed he saw Gareth Southgate three days before testing positive for coronavirus – and says it's "disgraceful" he wasn't told.

The TV presenter shared today's front page of The Sun on Sunday, which revealed the England manager, 50, secretly battled Covid.

Piers, 45, wrote on Twitter: "Hmmmm… England manager Gareth Southgate reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 on Oct 25.

"I was chatting with him on Oct 22 at ⁦GQ Heroes event, with the magazine’s editors.

"He didn’t tell any of us he tested positive 3 days later. If dates are correct, that’s disgraceful."

Gareth developed symptoms and tested positive around October 25.

He was forced to self-isolate for ten days before further checks came back negative.

Concern was heightened due to his age but his fitness helped him fight off the deadly virus — with his England stars none the wiser.

Pushing for more information on the football manager's coronavirus test, Piers said: "I have some questions for Gareth Southgate: 1) When exactly did you first became covid symptomatic?

"2) Was the test on Oct25 routine or because you had symptoms?

"3) Why did you not tell people you knew who you’d been with on Oct22 that you tested positive?"

England staff and players are regularly tested and Southgate, capped 57 times before becoming boss in 2016, has had several negative checks since.
