Phillip Schofield returned to screens on Saturday evening with a new episode of ITV’s The Cube. Two new couples took on The Cube games in a bid to win £250,000, with just nine lives to complete it. Sisters Shayma and Issra completed the first two games without losing any lives, however when it came to the third game for £10,000, they left Phillip in fear as the game seemed to challenge them.

The third game the sisters had to complete was called multi-shot, which consisted of Shayma throwing one ball into 20 separate containers only using one hand within 10 seconds.

As the explanation from The Cube ended, Phillip said: “And there’s your game, ten targets, ten seconds, you can only use one hand, have you thought about the money?”

Shayma replied: “So we were thinking family holiday,” to which Issra confirmed: “A big family holiday!”

Turning to their family members, Phillip asked: “Is that the first you’ve heard of it or have they discussed it they’re taking you all on holiday?”

All three family members replied together: “That’s the first we’ve heard of it!” With their auntie Rikay saying: “I think you’ll smash this one.”

Phillip turned and asked the girls: “Who’s going to play it?” To which Issra turned to her sister and said: “You haven’t done one yet, but I think you’ll be good at this one.”

“Ok, well, I feel like she could do just as good, but it’s just going in, like, quickly and accurately,” Shayma explained.

However, her sister had full confidence in her and said: “I think Shayma should go for this one, honestly.”

Phillip went on to remind them: “You’ve still got your lifelines, you’ve got all of your lives intact, Cube, thoughts?”

“If you miss a container, you will not lose a life, but you will lose valuable time,” the cube explained to the girls.

Shayma entered The Cube for a chance to win £10,000 for her family holiday, and once she was in, Phillip reminded her: “There you are, you’re in there on your own for the first time.

“Just throw one of those balls into each of those containers within the time, and you will stand out here beside us with £10,000.”

Before playing the game, Shayma asked her family: “How do you guys think I should do it? Like, if I miss one, should I come back to it or just attempt it again?”

Their cousin Sofia advised: “Attempt it again while you’re in that direction,” with Phillip soon asking if she was ready to start.

Shayma’s first and second attempt cost them two lives as she started off both attempts quickly but ended up panicking towards the end.

With seven lives remaining, Shayma took on the challenge once more, however ended up losing another life which left Phillip with his head in his hands.

He exclaimed: “Oh! You started off so well, the first two games no lives dropped, this game you’re three down.

“Don’t let The Cube in your head, you have six lives remaining, you still have both lifelines you can simplify, or you can swap.”

Shayma attempted the game two more times before she managed to complete the challenge, banking the £10,000.

The sisters managed to win £20,000 for their family holiday and decided not to risk the money they had already won with just three lives remaining.

The Cube airs Saturday nights at 8:30pm on ITV.
