The Better Call Saul crossover theory isn’t the first to emerge among Ozark fans following season three’s premiere on Netflix earlier this year. The introduction of Frank Cosgrove Jr (played by Joseph Sikora) led to some tipping a tied universe with Starz series Power. However, the clue linking the AMC drama with Ozark stems from fan-favourite Buddy (Harris Yulin) – and it’s pretty out there.
Better Call Saul, set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, follows budding lawyer Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) as he descends into the criminal and dark underbelly of the law.
The series is a prequel spin-off to the Golden Globe-winning Breaking Bad which followed a high school chemistry teacher who becomes one of the world’s most deadly and successful drug kingpins.
Ozark fans have made the argument that they see parallels between Breaking Bad’s Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) with Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner) ever since the Netflix series began, but there has been little evidence to suggest a crossover universe.
Well, thanks to one of Buddy star Yulin’s other roles, that all may change.

Taking to Reddit, Ozark fan Yager5000 has spotted the actor in his role of a judge in Ghostbusters 2.
The Ozark star played Judge Stephen Wexler in the 1989 comedy.
The fan has now devised a theory that links Yulin’s role in the blockbuster to tie Better Call Saul and Ozark together.
They explain: “Is Ghostbusters 2 the link between Ozark and Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad?
“Buddy from Ozark, spent time in NYC as Judge Stephen Wexler either while still upholding residence in Detroit or after moving from Detroit and before moving to Missouri.
“We also know Buddy has ties to the Kansas City mob and we know Kim Wexler (Rhea Seehorn) is a fan of Kansas City Royals.
“Are Buddy a/k/a Judge Stephen Wexler and Kim related? Do they know each other?
“Did Jimmy ever meet Marty Byrde during his time in Chicago? Did they learn to launder money together?”

Could there be a possible crossover in the near future thanks to Buddy’s ties?
While highly unlikely, the theory certainly provides some evidence that it could happen.
Although with Buddy out of the picture following his season two death, could a figure from his past come into the fray and tie the series together?
