Owen Warner’s I’m A Celebrity win ‘under threat’ after ITV jungle exit scare

I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! fans declared a “state of alarm” during Friday night’s eviction after bookies favourite heartthrob Owen Warner was told he “might be” leaving the jungle.

When the Hollyoaks actor first entered the ITV jungle he was pitched to be very much a middle of the pack contestant as far as bookies were concerned.

But as the weeks have gone on, the 23-year-old has quickly crept up the leaderboard alongside England Lioness Jill Scott.

In fact, earlier this week, the TV hunk edged out the TV favourite to snatch the jungle crown with many bookies struggling to separate the two for the winning spot.

With Owen heavily tipped to make this year’s I’m A Celebrity final, viewers were expecting him to breeze through the latest public vote on Friday.

However, the hunky beefcake found himself in the bottom two alongside Seann Walsh, as the pair were forced to endure an agonising wait before hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly revealed their fate.

In the end, the stand-up comic became the latest celebrity to be dumped from the jungle as the ex-Strictly star looked visibly upset to be leaving the show so close to the final.

But online, fans concerns turned to Owen as he narrowly avoided eviction for the first time as he nervously shook off the close-call around the firepit.

It is important to note that the Geordie duo say the results are in no particular order, but fans were left both furious and concerned for the star as he potentially faced the axe.

One user penned: “OWEN WAS IN THE BOTTOM TWO???? PARDON??” as a second, equally shocked, agreed: “Owen being in the bottom two and not Matt Hancock. Is this a joke?”

A third insisted: “Just because Owen was called in the bottom two doesn’t mean the votes reflect that, look at the past voting data.”

It comes after former campmate Scarlette Douglas claimed the soap star tried looking for mirrors as soon as he stepped foot into the camp.

The A Place In The Sun presenter began: “Hi guys, it’s Scarlette here. I’ve taken over Owen’s Instagram.

“I thought I'd send you a little story and tell you a little secret about Owen. When he got in the jungle, all he was doing was trying to find mirrors.

“Everywhere he went and he found these tiny squares so high up in the trees that nobody else could see them.

“He was just standing there and he’s like, ‘Yeah, I look good’.”
