Nick Cordero’s wife told to ‘say goodbye’ as ‘he won’t make it’ in coronavirus battle- but she ‘still has faith’ – The Sun
Nick Cordero's wife has revealed that she is holding on to her "faith" as doctors claimed her husband would not "make it" following his coronavirus battle.
The Tony Award-nominated actor for Bullets over Broadway has been in the ICU since late March, and his wife Amanda Kloots has been keeping fans updated on his condition across social media.
Sharing her latest update, Amanda wrote: "I've been told a couple times that he won’t make it. I’ve been told to say goodbye. I’ve been told it would take a miracle. Well, I have faith.
"Faith that is small as a mustard seed sometimes, but that is all you need sometimes."
She added: "He’s still here and despite his odds gets slightly, slightly better every day. Where there is faith, there is hope. Where there is hope, there can be a miracle!
"Like my dad has said since day one, every day he’s still with us is a miracle. I believe God is with us, with the doctors and with Nick."
Nick had suffered complications from the illness which forced doctors to amputate his right leg because of blood clots.
In mid-May he woke up from his medically-induced coma, and Amanda posted several videos on Instagram dancing with their ten-month-old son Elvis, unable to keep a big smile off her face, as she added: "Dada is awake. He is awake guys. Nick is so weak right now so even opening his eyes and closing his eyes take all of his energy but Dada is awake. Woo hoo!"
The situation is very difficult for Amanda who is not allowed to be with her husband physically because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
She explained in a caption on her Stories: "[sic] A plead… I know this isn't possible but today is miracle day so why not ask. I just wish I could see him. Hold his hand. Touch his face. I do believe this would help him WAKE UP!"
In early May, the Tony nominee had to be resuscitated after undergoing emergency surgery in order to prevent a blood clot.
Of the decision to amputate his leg, Amanda shared: "He's a dancer. He's an actor. He's a performer.
"It was not an easy decision to make."
