Netflix dropped its reality series Next In Fashion earlier this year as the streaming giant forayed further into the genre. The show was hosted by one fifth of the Fab Five Tan France and former model Alexa Chung. The series has sadly now been cancelled after one series – here’s why.
Next In Fashion first hit Netflix in January 2020 with a total of 10 episodes, which all landed at once.
The series followed a group of aspiring fashion designers hoping to make it big within the industry.
Each episode saw the 18 contestants put their paces with a fashion challenge based on trends and styles from around the globe.
At the end of each instalment one fashionista would get the boot from the contest.

The upcoming designers had all been working with major fashion houses and celebrities prior to taking part in Next In Fashion.
All of the designers were hoping to win the much-coveted £196,000 ($250,000) cash prize.
The winner would also debut their collection with luxury fashion retailer Net-a-Porter.
Season one of Next In Fashion saw South Korean designer Minju Kim crowned the winner.
She fought off tough competition from British designer Daniel Fletcher to become the victor.
Why has Next In Fashion been cancelled by Netflix?
Variety reported Netflix had cancelled Next In Fashion with host France telling the publication season two was not going ahead.
France said: “This is a one-season show, we don’t know what will happen in the future.”
His words suggested a different broadcaster could potentially pick up the series but there’s been no confirmation as yet.
The British star continued: “But it was honestly one of the proudest things I’ve ever worked on. I love the show and Alexa so much.
“My focus is definitely on Queer Eye and moving forward with that.”
Express.co.uk has approached Netflix for further comment on this story.
Although Next In Fashion may have been cancelled, France will be appearing in the latest series of Queer Eye which launched today (June 5).
Along with his colleagues Antoni Porowski, Karamo Brown, Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness, France will be transforming the lives of well-deserving members of the community.

Netflix has also given Queer Eye season six the go-ahead, so fans will be getting plenty more uplifting television in the future.
However, the coronavirus pandemic has stalled all television and film productions, and this could put a spanner in the works for the next season of Queer Eye.
Fans will have to stay tuned to see when lockdown lifts and production can re-start on their favourite movies and shows.
Next In Fashion is just one of several shows to be cancelled this year including AJ and the Queen, Spinning Out and Messiah.
Although Next In Fashion may have failed to take flight, other reality series have proved popular on Netflix this year including the phenomenally successful Love Is Blind and Too Hot To Handle.
Netflix also dropped recently The Big Flower Fight, the streamer’s horticultural answer to The Great British Bake Off.
Again, the video on-demand service will be analysing viewing figures carefully before deciding on a renewal.
