'NCIS' Star Wilmer Valderrama Shares More Behind-The-Scenes Photos of Cote De Pablo on the Season 17 Set

We have more exciting news to share about Cote de Pablo’s return as Ziva David on NCIS. Ahead of the season 17 premiere (which is only a few days away!), NCIS star Wilmer Valderrama shared some more behind-the-scenes shots of De Pablo in action. What do the photos reveal about Ziva’s journey this season?

Valderrama teases Ziva’s return

Valderrama has been sharing photos from the set of season 17of NCIS for weeks. His latest post showed him hanging out with De Pabloin-between scenes.

The actor did not give any context behind the photo, but it definitely confirms that Torres will be sharing a few scenes with Ziva in season 17.

Valderrama was not part of the show when De Pablo left inseason 11, so we don’t know how they will get along. According to CarterMatt, they both share a lot of similar characteristics, which could bringthem closer or drive them apart, depending on what direction producers take.

Either way, we cannot wait to see Torres and Ziva team upthis season. One of Valderrama’s previous posts showed them drawing theirweapons, so we should get a few action sequences with the pair as well.

Apart from partnering with Torres, the photos also revealthat Ziva will be joining the rest of the team at some point this season. Afterall, she won’t be able to take down this year’s villain by herself.

When will Ziva join the rest of the NCIS team?

Exactly when Ziva comes out of hiding to the rest of the NCISteam is still unknown. There is a lot about Ziva’s story that needs to beflushed out in the premiere, which does not leave a lot of room for anythingelse.

At the end of season 16, Ziva showed up at Gibbs’s (Mark Harmon) house to warn him about a threat. Ziva revealed that she faked her death to keep her family safe and that Gibbs is now a target.

But we still don’t know what Ziva has been up to over the past few years. Her family life also remains a mystery. We do not know, for instance, if Tony (Michael Weatherly) knows that she is alive or if they have kept in loose contact over the years.

When Ziva does reunite with the rest of the NCIS team, not everybody will be happy about being kept out of the loop. In the trailer for the new season, McGee (Sean Murray) is shown getting a little upset when he finds out that other people knew about Ziva and didn’t tell him.

McGee and Ziva were practically family when she moved toIsrael, so it makes sense that he is a little upset about how things werehandled.

Based on everything we know, it looks like Ziva will not bejoining the team until the second episode of NCIS season 17. Producerspreviously revealed that Ziva will appear in the first two installments beforereturning later in the season.

Gibbs and Ziva team up on ‘NCIS’

The one thing we know for sure is that Gibbs and Ziva willbe joining forces to take out the threat in the NCIS premiere. In fact,the premiere will pick up where season 16 ended, dropping Gibbs and Ziva intothe heat of battle straight away.

In a recent interview, De Pablo emphasized that the threat is very serious in nature. According to Pop Culture, the actress explained that Ziva would not have come out of hiding if it was not her last option. After all, she has been living in the shadows to protect her family and revealing herself to Gibbs jeopardizing everything.

“We are very much in danger,” De Pablo shared. “The only wayto justify Ziva breaking cover and jeopardizing herself and the people at NCISwas to make the threat absolutely real.”

De Pablo added that Ziva views Gibbs as a father figure in her life, which is why she felt obligated to warn him about the danger. She also noted that the threat is tied to something in her character’s past, though exactly what remains a mystery.

Hopefully, the NCIS team can eliminate the threat and give Ziva the freedom to reunite with her family.

Fans can watch Ziva return to action when season 17 of NCIS premieres on September 24 on CBS.
