Naya Rivera: Police Hold News Conference About Body Found in Lake Where Glee Actress Disappeared — WATCH

Hours after a body was found in the lake where Naya Rivera disappeared and is presumed to have drowned, authorities are releasing new details.

On Monday afternoon, police held news conference at Lake Piru in Ventura County, California, where the Glee star went missing last week. Watch the press conference live above.

Earlier in the day, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office tweeted that "a body has been found at Lake Piru this morning" and "the recovery is in progress."

The discovery comes five days after Rivera's son Josey was found alone and sleeping on a pontoon boat on July 8 at the Southern California lake, where the pair had been swimming that day. One day later, authorities announced that Rivera, 33, was presumed dead.

Authorities said Josey was "in good health" despite his mother's disappearance, and the boy has reunited with his father, Rivera's ex-husband Ryan Dorsey. The toddler told investigators that his mother never got back into the boat after they had been in the water.

Lake Piru, which is located about 57 miles north of Los Angeles, is nearly two miles long and 130-feet deep at some points.

It is also known for its dangerous conditions. Ventura County Sheriff Sgt. Kevin Donoghue previously confirmed to PEOPLE that there have been prior drownings on the lake. A Change.org petition has been created following Rivera's disappearance, urging officials to post warning signs for those interested in swimming.
