My Name is due to arrive on Netflix soon and the South Korean series will be following in the footsteps of Squid Game. When is My Name out on Netflix?
My Name is an upcoming South Korean thriller series about a woman who goes undercover as a police officer.
Three of the eight episodes were shown at the 26th Busan International Film Festival on October 7.
The full series is due to be released on Netflix on October 15 and all eight episodes will drop at once.
Fans in the US should have access to the series from midnight, whereas those in the UK will be able to watch from 8am.
The series was originally called Undercover, when it was first announced back in August 2020.
Who is in the cast of My Name?
The series follows Yoon Ji-woo (played by Han So-hee), a woman driven by revenge following the death of her father.
She is joined by Choi Moo-jin (Park Hee-soon), Jeon Pil-do (Ahn Bo-hyun) and Cha Gi-ho (Kim Sang-ho).
Other characters include Jung Tae-joo (Lee Hak-joo) and Do Gang-jae (Chang Ryul).
Han So-hee is on Instagram and she has been sharing plenty of behind the scenes photos from the series.
She is seen covered in fake blood, suggesting the new series will be equally as gory as Squid Game.
Is there a trailer for My Name?
Yes, a trailer for the new series has been released and it shows Yoon Ji-woo joining the police service.
A voice is heard saying: “Now your life is in our hands. Whatever you do, we’ll protect you.”
The trailer goes on to say: “No one can know my enemy, my revenge, my name” while Yoon Ji-woo is seen attacking various men.
She says: “I’m willing to be a monster.” Fans have taken to the YouTube comments to share their thoughts.
LV said: “Netflix is killing it with Korean dramas. Hopefully more people will get exposed to the Korean style.”
What is My Name about?
The series follows Yoon Ji-woo as she joins a gang to avenge her father’s death.
She puts her trust in a powerful crime kingpin and joins the police under his direction and leadership.
She is determined to find the culprit who killed her father and infiltrates the police using a new name.
The lead character will not hesitate to do anything if it means getting revenge.
Plenty of harrowing truths about her past are likely to emerge as she remembers what she lost.
Adding to the YouTube comments, Promodini Jayasuriya said: “Han So Hee is a brilliant actress. Can’t wait for this masterpiece.”
Marion Lhermitte added: “I can’t wait. Han So Hee is a wonderful actress and seeing her in action will be a delight I bet.”

The release of the series follows the worldwide success of Squid Game, another South Korean title.
The show has been named as Netflix’s most successful series to date and remains to be number one in the charts across the globe.
My Name airs on Netflix on October 15.
