Money Heist sent viewers on a hugely stressful journey throughout season four, as the team almost didn’t make it to the end of the series alive. While Tokyo (played by Ursula Corbero) barely got out of the Royal Mint unscathed, The Professor’s (Alvaro Morte) fate was left hanging in the balance in the Netflix show’s final cliffhanger.

Unfortunately for the team, they did see the death of a beloved member of their gang – Nairobi (Alba Flores).

Although Nairobi was almost fatally shot during season three, she did make it to season four alive and well.

That was, until, she was shot for a second time during season four by none other than long-time villain Gandia (Jose Manuel Poga).

After being shot through the chest, Nairobi’s team did as much as they could to resuscitate her to no avail.

Fans of the show were saddened by Nairobi’s death, but have now begun questioning why she died while another member of the show endured a similar wound back in season one.

During season one, Mint manager Arturo (Enrique Arce) found himself in the firing line as he was shot in the upper half of his torso by a sniper rifle.

Although the bullet wound looked quite gruesome, Arturo managed to pull himself back together after a quick surgery by his captors, leaving him with not much more than a scar.

Now, Reddit user and Money Heist fan Casmusthai has asked: “How was Arturo is Healthy but Nairobi [wasn’t]?

“During Season one or Season two, there was a scene where Arturo got shot in the shoulder or chest by a sniper bullet.

“He had surgery and came out healthy in a few days and then In Season three, Nairobi got shot in the chest (or shoulders) She had surgery and became almost paralysed and unable to move. Can someone explain?” (sic)

While these two cases were presented similarly, viewers were eager to point out that Nairobi’s gunshot wound was dramatically worse and that she was up against a tough battle to begin with.

In response, one fan reasoned: “Arturo was shot in the shoulder, and the bullet was lodged near the clavicle.

“No vital organs and apparently no important blood vessels were hit. He didn’t even have significant blood loss. Nairobi was shot in the chest, and definitely her lung and probably an artery (judged by the blood spray) were hit.

“The shot also caused tension pneumothorax, which by itself is a life threatening condition. She was not paralysed, she had a major surgery during which half of her chest was sliced open and part of her lung was removed.”

The fan wrapped up: “It’s a miracle that a day later she could get up from bed. If she was in the hospital she would have probably stayed in an ICU for several days.”

Although Nairobi went on to survive her ordeal, viewers unfortunately witnessed her actual gunshot death in season four, which saw the end of her journey.

  • Money Heist: Is Denver’s laugh real in La Casa de Papel?

This wasn’t the only potential plot hole viewers have pointed out in recent weeks, as fans recently demanded answers pertaining to Stockholm’s (Esther Acebo) comments about her sister.

Whilst discussing with Denver (Jaime Lorente) how he ought to shoot her, Stockholm confessed being shot in the thigh was the best bet – as her sister has bled a lot from there.

Referencing this, one fan wrote: “In the first season when Berlin wants to execute Stockholm and Stockholm begs for her life she says that Denver should shoot in her leg because it bleeds a lot. All fine but she said that she saw it on her sister? Was that established or was it just a random fact? Why was her sister shot in the leg?”

Money Heist seasons 1-4 are available to stream on Netflix now.
